Our events and workshops help aspiring entrepreneurs learn from and network with other aspiring entrepreneurs, mentors, investors and other stakeholders. We design and organize workshops, training sessions, sectoral boot camps and talks to inspire entrepreneurs and other entrepreneurship stakeholders across India.
Stay Hungry Stay Foolish is India’s most successful entrepreneurship book – having inspired over 500,000 aspiring entrepreneurs and having been translated into 8 Indian languages.
Over 500 subject matter experts evaluated them, 1350 were actively mentored, 75 were provided detailed coaching at IIMA, 85 were provided a grant of Rs. 4.15 Cr, and 35 received Rs. 7 Cr in seed investment.
CIIE’s partnership with Govt of India and Economic Times – Power of Ideas – is India’s largest entrepreneurship development initiative. CIIE received 31000+ ideas from across the country from Power of Ideas 2010 and 2012
CIIE conceptualized iAccelerator as India’s first accelerator program in 2008-09 and led way for creation of many such accelerators in India. Over 50 ventures have been provided acceleration support through the program.
CIIE pioneered the concept of “placement holiday at IIMA” for graduating students wanting to take on entrepreneurship. Today, all top academic institutes in India have replicated the program to support entrepreneurship on campus.
We train IIMA students through courses and independent projects exposing them to areas like product design, design thinking, entrepreneurship, fund management and many others. Our accelerator programs for entrepreneurs act as a “mini-MBA” – giving them a true IIMA experience – while letting them focus on their venture.
Over 5,000 individuals have attended events organized by us across the world.
In our effort to build the ecosystem and inspire its different stakeholders, we have published case-studies, white papers, books and journals. Some of our publications include:
STAY HUNGRY STAY FOOLISH
At a time when “starting-up” was looked down upon, we conceptualized and published Rashmi Bansal’s Stay Hungry Stay Foolish which has inspired youth across the country to take the road less travelled. The book has been translated into 8 languages and has sold over 4 lac copies. More importantly, this pioneering book made the “entrepreneurship literature” a popular genre in India.
To start is tough; to mentor tougher. In order to guide corporate leaders and subject matter experts to handhold upcoming entrepreneurs effectively, we put together the Mentoring Journal. The journal enables a mentor to engage with an entrepreneur in a structured manner resulting in value addition, rather than being repetitive and superficial.
CIIE has always been intrigued by Pune’s success as a product destination. We studied the critical success factors of what makes Pune produce some great ventures – despite lacking an organized entrepreneurial ecosystem. Think Pune! in an attempt to pay our tribute to Pune’s determined entrepreneurs and attract more support for the entrepreneurs in the city.
Incubators play a significant role in developing and supporting entrepreneurial ecosystem. This Handbook is an attempt to aid managers of non profit incubators to strategize and execute better. We encourage using the various aspects of incubator’s preparatory and development phases and building upon the practical frameworks to create newer approaches.
